Rapid Response is a short-term consultation service provided to preschool programs, by the 0-6 Home Based Clinicians from the outpatient team. * The program provides a short-term intervention to childcare centres that are struggling to manage the behaviour of a preschool child, who is at risk of losing his/her placement. * The goal of the service is to support the staff so that the child's placement can be a success.
The service is designed to meet the needs of a preschool program that is struggling to manage the behaviour of a specific child. * This consultation service includes initial meetings with the staff, problem solving and planning, completion of a treatment plan and report, and time limited consultation intervention.
Goals may include:
* Empowering the staff working day to day with the challenges of diverse children.
* Understanding and encouraging child development.
* Fostering a better understanding of the child's needs and developing a plan to cope with difficult behaviours.
* Encouraging staff self-care and coping skills.
* Assisting preschool in accessing information about supports and resources.
In order to work most effectively, the collaboration between the preschool staff and the Rapid Response 0-6 therapist is important. Through this collaboration, we will support the staff who are working with a child who is at risk of losing their placement.
We strongly encourage the support of other programs such as Setting the Stage and Affiliated Services for Children and Youth (ASCY) workshops be accessed prior to, or, in collaboration with this service.
Parents can access in home support via the 0-6 Mental Health program, through contacting Contact Hamilton.

A free workshop offered to parents by the Infant Parent Program. * Program is run by 2 leaders who are infant development specialists. * Approximately 15 parents meet with the leaders, for 2 hours a week, for 8 weeks. * Parents will be able to talk with the leaders about parenting questions and concerns, watch videos, talk with small groups of 4 or 5 other parents, receive informative handouts and help in practicing newly acquired skills at home. * Limited childcare available. * Parking is free for participants.

Anger Management for Men Program: Provides information and strategies that help participants manage their anger, improve their overall health, and contribute positively to the health and well-beings of their families and the community. Weekly two-hour interactive workshops over a 10-week period. Registration is required.
Women's Approach to Anger Management: women learn to recognize and implement appropriate decision making, use short-term coping strategies, and develop long-term plans for managing anger. Group setting, eight weekly two-hour sessions, offered four times a year. Registration is required.
